 Birth of Al Hattal
« Thread Started on Jul 18, 2007, 11:43pm »

Jahara paced rapidly her bare feet hitting the ground endlessly. Luckily Al Hawa was the only mare awake and ready to foal or else the halls of the foaling stalls would be filled with the slapping of feet against the hard dirt floors. Jahara had watched restlessly as Al Hawa paced and sweated herself worrying over the foal she was soon to have. It would be a long night but hopefully it would be worth the wait and riding upon the morning sun Allah would come and bless the foal.

Jahara woke with a start feeling cold sweat dripping down her forehead. She had fallen asleep!? What about Al Hawa? She stood quickly catching a shovel before it fell with a clatter. Peeking over the stall door she saw Al Hawa laying upon the ground and nestled between the crook of her legs...a small black colt. Jahara cried out a prayer to Allah and leapt over the stall door. Walking slowly so as not to disturb Al Hawa's short temper she placed her hand gently on the mares forehead and whispered a small blessing. Suddenly a ray of sunlight burst through the small window at the top of the stall bathing the colt in dusty sunlight. A blacky. The colt was black. A most favored color and what was even more...he had no markings at all. Farid would be well pleased with the colt. Scrambling back to her feet she left the stall quietly already a name for the foal in her head. Al Hattal.

Ankaa had heard second hand about Al Hawa being ready to birth that night. She knew that it wasn't much her place to go see, but she didn't care. It was Nabil's foal, and Farid's mare. That was enough for her. She almost ran into Jahara as she entered. She murmured an apology quickly, before slowing and walking quietly over. She smiled as she say the colt, laying there. It may be black and have no markings, the face structure was unmistakable. He looked so much like her runaway stallion. I just wish I knew where he ran away to.
