Trumpeting Neighs and soft nickers followed me down the dim corridor as I made for Shaheen's stall. In the darkest and furthest corner my magnificant stud stood. My fingers traced over the characters carved into his wooden door. Warning, Dangerous Horse! They read. Still, I slipt a halter over his fine head, and proceded to tack him.
My emerald eyes took a few moments to adjust when the blinding sunlight hit me. My handsome pallid stallion floated beside me, occasionally bumping my shoulder lightly with his velvety muzzle. I smiled up at him. A strong leap lifted me into his saddle.
I turned my steed towards the track, nudging him lightly for a canter. The wind swept my soft curls back from my sun-browned face. Plump lips parted in a joyous cry, in which the grey stallion joined.
We formed to become one. Our strength and beauty was wild and untamed. The sand below raced by in a golden blurr, and I am sure we, too, were a snowy blurr marring the track. I could feel the eyes of men envying me, and my unity with the creature they could not conquer. As if feeling the heat from they're glares, Shaheen decided to show off. He lifted into a graceful rear, My head hung back, showing off just as much as the stud. A thud back to earth, and we were galloping around and around. It felt like flying. We ran so swiftly that the earth rumbled neath powerful hooves, and my head wrap was blown off. But staying true to legend, Shaheen's proudly held carriage snatched it from the wind, but it did not stay for long. The greedy breeze grabbed it once more, carring it away. Still, I urged Shaheen faster. The power in this one horse was magnificent.
Soon, I decided I will race him. Let them all be filled with jelousy, both at the magnificent horse that wasn't theirs, and at the only person able to ride him. I knew that soon my dream would be a reality. But for now, I slowed Shaheen to an ambling dou-beat. My cheeks were flushed, my hair wind tossed, and my green eyes sparkled. And I knew I looked as wild and carefree as the beast beneath me.

Jahara rode bareback. She had never really cared much for saddles they interfered with the way that Al Hawa wanted to communicate with her. Being able to feel the mare move liquidly beneath her was a dream. She was fluid and graceful under Jahara's hands. Riding out into the sun Jahara lifted her hand and pulled her scarf over her face hiding everything but her own brown eyes. Having Al Hawa pick up a smooth trot she headed towards the track. The race this year was huge and sheiks from all around brought their horses to race. The rider who won the race chose the best of his opponents stock. Al Hawa was the best and this year she was determined to ride in the race no matter what the rules claimed about her gender. She wouldnt even tell Farid about her plan and he trusted her care with Al Hawa's life and foals more than he often trusted himself with her. Pulling the mare to a stop she didnt even realize that another rider was on the track. With Jahara's pantalooned legs clinging lightly to Al Hawa's flanks she squeezed slightly digging her heels into the mares ribs. Al Hawa took off at a gallop letting her long strides eat at the sand beneath them. The mares black mane flew into Jahara's face blinding her temporarily. Pulling herself to the side slightly she could see now that they were coming up fast on another rider. Oh well a little competition would season Al Hawa to the race anyhow. Burying her hands deep into Hawa's mane Jahara clucked twice at the dark bay mare and she shot forward one more her strides lengthening. Soon she found herself able to look over the other horse's rump. She knew now that the rider was another girl like herself but that didnt stop Jahara. She was reckless. Clucking once more to the fleet mare beneath her hooves Hawa pulled forward again but Jahara had realized too late that the horse that the other rider sat upon was a stallion. Al Hawa's head shot out her teeth snapping near the stallions head. Jahara yelped and pulled back desperately on the reins getting Al Hawa to slow. Finally she pulled Hawa to a complete stop and slid off checking the mare over in case something had happened. Having just had her foal Al Hawa still felt rather protective even if the colt still lay in the stall. She would become used to stallions in several days once more.

Black scythers slung hot sand into the desert air, pounding across the track, carrying my rider faster and faster still around the track.
Behind me I heard the daggers of another, drawing nearer. In the mood for a game, I kept my pace, listening as the beast drew closer. But a sharp clack sounded in my lobe. Swinging my head around, lashing out a pillar at the mare, but her rider had already slowed her, so my flint found nothing but air. An enraged scream sounded from my kissers. I began to rear, whirling towards the mare, but a sharp pull against my mouth forced me to turn my dainty dial.
I lifted myself from the earth, crashing back down, fore end first. I lashed out and screeched. It was quite clear that I was a wild brute, never quite tamed by my capturers. But a soft, soothing sound floated down to my radars, calming my bucking, quieting my screams, until eventually I stood motionless. Zaida, and only Zaida had ever been able to control me. She didn't treat me like a servant, more like a partner. Is that why? I didn't know.
I felt her weight shift, and finally vanish, as she dismounted. I nudged her shoulder with my velvety mug, then shook my pale pelt, my tresses flying about my head. A snort emitted from my nares, and I stomped a scyther impatiently.
I caught site of the minx who dared nip at me. A mocha vixen, with raven tassles, she was quite attractive. I forgot my anger, and pulled lightly at the reins, neighing horsey flirts at her. Zaida gave me an annoyed look with her piercing green eyes, and I quitened.
